“Dates with Jesus”

The privilege to walk across the Pensacola Christian College stage to collect my BA in English isn’t easily forgotten. An event that summarized 4 1/2 years of focused diligence.

Friendships developed, lifelong lessons learned, sides ached from laughter. But the quiet moments, I think, I valued the most.

Not until my last year did I find a shady green spot where I slipped away almost every afternoon with my Bible and pencil. Those were the times I rejoiced in The Lord, cried before Him, and simply listened to His Word.

Truthfully, I don’t know what else compares to that. Between a friend and myself, these moments were called “dates with Jesus.”

Today my shady green spot takes the form of a fluffy white pillow and sheets or the dining room table. Days just aren’t the same without it…

Where do you seek His face?

“He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide in the shadow do the Almighty.” Psalm 91:1 KJV

  1. I’m so glad to see that you are writing! Those quiet times change so much over the years in different ages and life stages, but thanks for the reminder that they are so important. My favorite quiet times are cool mornings on the deck with a cup of coffee.

    1. I finally got started 🙂 it’s pretty fun!!

  2. Thank you for sharing that…it was amazing and so very interesting. I really like hearing about your life. Excellent verse.

Grace + Common Sense

This world is crazy and if I pay too much attention to it I will lose heart and mind. So what to do? Lavishly sprinkle grace and common sense unto everything: motherhood, spiritual and mental health, wellness, fitness. Life.

Common sense is a luxury… and grace is often withheld where it could be poured out. Thankfully, we have such THE Perfect Example to follow.

This is what my blog is all about.
