Bubbles Bubbles Bubbles

You know, children are really so easy to please.

Have you ever seen kids with bubbles? They light up and jump around, their whole little selves ignited with the jumps and giggles. Time and time again I am mindblown at how kids are entertained by the simplest of things–in their present moment, this is their world.

It’s the simple things

Earlier this week I was gifted a bubble-blaster for my kiddos that we all got excited about. I let myself down momentarily, though. And it was sad. Let me tell you . . .

My plan was to assemble the blaster at big bro’s soccer practice so, my daughter could have something new and fun to enjoy with her little boy friends (space intentional). But because I didn’t read the instructions on the package, I was unequipped with a tiny screwdriver needed to open the panel to the batteries–and the package actually included batteries!).

But I didn’t realize that I needed it. Until we were out on the field . . .

Not knowing that Mommy had forgotten a very important detail, Evvy handed me the pieces to assemble it for her. But, alas, I could not. She wasn’t even upset–and it made me feel even worse. I was pretty disappointed in myself.

[Sidenote] Look at how huge this chickadee’s smile is when I told her her little bestie had arrived:

The biggest cheese I have ever seen!

Yesterday morning Caeden and Evvy stepped out onto the back porch to pop bubbles before we headed out to work and school. They played together so sweetly. My heart melted.

What a beautiful way to start our day.

So many ways to enjoy

There are so many forms to enjoy blowing bubbles. So far we own a collection of:

  • a bubble blaster (the newest addition!),
  • a bubble mower,
  • large wands,
  • and tiny wands (which are so perfect to slip in a purse pocket, let me tell you. We have several “leetle-leetle” ones that we have collected from Valentine’s, Easter, and as party favors! way better than candy, amiright?)

My kiddos go crazy over their bubble toys–and yes, even have altercations over them.

I have a huge (I think it’s a gallon) jug of bubbles to refill our equipment. But I will say that when it runs out, I will be making a homemade solution that makes even better bubbles!!

Warm water, dish soap, and sugar.

(Although if you Google it, you’ll see that you can use other ingredients. This is just what we’ve been successful with.)

In 2020, Caeden and I made solution from scratch and it was a day we both remember.

So come on kids–big and little–get outside and blow some bubbles. I bet you won’t regret it one bit.

Grace + Common Sense

This world is crazy and if I pay too much attention to it I will lose heart and mind. So what to do? Lavishly sprinkle grace and common sense unto everything: motherhood, spiritual and mental health, wellness, fitness. Life.

Common sense is a luxury… and grace is often withheld where it could be poured out. Thankfully, we have such THE Perfect Example to follow.

This is what my blog is all about.
