On Day 850,000 of January

Something’s gotta give …

The first month of the year may feel extra long for some and yet just not long enough.

I have so many intentions for 2025 and recently I was beating myself up about what was not being done. As if I was achieving none of them.

For Christmas I even got a beautiful, sleek planner to help me keep all of it organized!

Enter: some grace and common sense.

Actually, I have done some of the the things I wanted to. And just because it was not all does not mean one bit I have failed.

(Read that again if you need to.)

  • Did I do a workout 3-4 times every week? Nope.
  • Did I figure out how to start running again? lol no.
  • Did I study my Bible every day? Did I stay up late reading? No. And no.
  • Have I stuck with my blog calendar? Uhm. No. (And sadly. Cuz I have content I am excited to share. Life if just life-ing 😅).

Does this mean I have failed?

Absolutely not. Because. This is what I have done:

  • I’ve added more veggies to my brekky. And started having a salad with dinner. (I realized I had gotten bored with the way I’ve been preparing my veg.)
  • I’m determined to be intentional and not so rushed in the morning (this is huge and amazing if I don’t miss my alarm).
  • I take a walk pretty much every Saturday with the kiddos. And I’ve done consistently at least 1 or 2 little workouts each week. (Deep core y’all! A little does go a long way.)
  • I bake sourdough regularly so I don’t have to eat store bought bread.

Is there more? I bet so. But no need to bore you.

If you’re being overshadowed with all the things you’re not doing—take it from me—pause and look at what is getting done. And breathe it in.

What have you been accomplishing this year already? Big or small!

Talk to you soon!

About THis blog

Grace + Common Sense

This world is crazy and if I pay too much attention to it I will lose heart and mind. So what to do? Lavishly sprinkle grace and common sense unto everything: motherhood, spiritual and mental health, wellness, fitness. Life.

Common sense is a luxury… and grace is often withheld where it could be poured out. Thankfully, we have such THE Perfect Example to follow.

This is what my blog is all about.
