Something Hardly Talked About

(from one working mom’s heart)

You know what isn’t talked about hardly enough? How the mom is doing who’s home with a sick child and not getting paid because she is all out of sick time.

We’re tough so you probably wouldn’t hear about it anyway. And we are pushed to think that this is okay.

It isn’t.

For this very reason, I’m learning how to grow a passive income that will not only help me bless my own little family, but can also help other moms who are trapped in the very same position that I am.

If any part of what I said resonated with you, please comment below, and I would love to share my heart with you.

Thankfully, my daughter is not bedridden, she just has one of those annoying communicable diseases that has to run out of her system. So we are totally able to live our best lives right now.

In the morning, little lady set up her work station complete with Cheerios, coffee (that was my contribution), and water.

For the longest time I’ve been itching to go on what I call a “long walk” so I brought my stroller while Evvy rode her scooter. We paused many times to switch from riding one vehicle to the other, if you know what I mean.

On the last stretch of this long walk we passed our local lending library and I was prepared to return a stack I had “checked out” and collected a new (and exciting!) load of loot.

Such a beautiful selection.

And because we were so not done being outside we took some freshly baked brownies and iced coffee to the back porch to enjoy.

Fun fact, I had less cocoa than usual and added extra powdered sugar—and it really enhanced the whole experience!

Grace + Common Sense

This world is crazy and if I pay too much attention to it I will lose heart and mind. So what to do? Lavishly sprinkle grace and common sense unto everything: motherhood, spiritual and mental health, wellness, fitness. Life.

Common sense is a luxury… and grace is often withheld where it could be poured out. Thankfully, we have such THE Perfect Example to follow.

This is what my blog is all about.
