Happy Little Georgia Trip

A wedding plus family adventures

Beginning the Story in Pictures

The cutest backseat drivers. And proof that devices are not a requirement.
Someone commandeered my gas station cuppa joe.
Sweetness. He’s drinking it black, I kid you not!
Incredible breakfast in McDonough Square. (Featuring biscuits of dreams).
Costco! Let’s go!
I mustache you a question… Are you drinking pomegranate juice?
She’s giving “second born, daughter.”
The stunning couple!! (The whole point of the trip!)

This past summer we volunteered to house one of our church’s interns. The first time we did it for week but that just was not enough (the intern was so amazing to have around). So take two, let’s do two weeks this time. But of course that still wasn’t long enough to enjoy having Caleb (the groom) in our home. (These guys are an exceptional breed, I tell you!)

When our two weeks were up there was such an emptiness in our house because Caleb fit right in and became a part of our lives. The kids adored him so naturally we’re all fully invested. So much so it was a no brainer to take a little drive and celebrate such a special day in his life.

But I’m getting ahead of myself here. Before the summer was over we learned that Tabitha, Caleb’s then finance, was coming to visit him and naturally we wanted to meet her (we felt like we knew her already!) and offer her a place for stay. She was a dream and together one afternoon the sweet couple actually babysat our kids so Chris and I could spend a couple hours out on the town.

Time zipped along as did the roads to a church in McDonough, GA, where we got to see the Kenneys start a new and exciting life together.

Totally worth it. And if you say “hotel” to my my kids you better believe they’re going to start packing a bag of toys and things!

And now, a Luau

Despite my almost decade-long career with Chick-fil-A, turns out my head has been in the sand about these themed CFA restaurants. I mean, did you know about them?

Apparently the one we went to outside Atlanta was Hawaiian-themed but there’s an Italian one and who knows what else located in this world. Like, seriously, where have I been??

(I was definitely present for this experience!)

I was beginning to fear he was going to snub dinner for this throne.
Mini Hawaiian queen.
Filling the waiting gap.
Dinner has been served!

I had the luau burger and a seasonal pumpkin spice iced latte which is hands down the best pumpkin spice beverage I have ever had. Bravo to Truett’s people. What an ingenious blend of gourd, spices, milk, and graham cracker crumbs. Yes, you read that right. Standing ovation puh-lease!

Taking it all in.
The most pleasant lanai.
Fascinating waterfall.
Ready to challenge mommy at corn hole.

Fast forward to the morning we headed out—but not without breakfast. It’s Bo time!

And that’s the end!

Georgia is a special, special place.

Many thanks to your presence here!

About THis blog

Grace + Common Sense

This world is crazy and if I pay too much attention to it I will lose heart and mind. So what to do? Lavishly sprinkle grace and common sense unto everything: motherhood, spiritual and mental health, wellness, fitness. Life.

Common sense is a luxury… and grace is often withheld where it could be poured out. Thankfully, we have such THE Perfect Example to follow.

This is what my blog is all about.
