Who loves being a beginner?

Honestly? Not me. But literally everyone has a day one.

Welcome to mine.

I am very much aware that I am putting myself out there. And through the platform of shampoo.

And why shampoo?

Because it’s necessary, it’s simple, and a reliable way to make a difference.

At times I feel so silly. I have a list of friends that I know could do so great with this (like, even better than me!) and I’m calling it my “chicken list” because I feel like a bok-bok when I think about reaching out to them.

I reached out to several last night and realized, I truly have nothing to lose. I had some really sweet conversations with some girls and I think that’s the whole point. I think so many of us get so distracted by the product and miss the person sharing it–while the opposite can also be true, maybe? It’s not me, though. I may still be hiding behind that bottle of shampoo.

What drew me in

I will probably always refer to this part of the story. First, I saw a post made about a dear friend of mine and was curious what she had gotten herself into. And I will not lie, when I heard the company name a wall automatically started building, but as her friend I wanted to hear about her plans and cheer her on.

So we arranged a time to sit together in person and she shared what attracted her to it and what her future could look like–based on some amazing testimonies of other women living their dreams.

I despise spending money, okay. Like, severely. But it was a no-brainer. Of course I wanted to support her with it. . . . Although I did take a few days to get back with my final answer.

When we were chatting, she explained to me something I’ve never heard of before with businesses like this (or so I think) and it’s that as a market partner (MP) I am under no obligation to order every month. I mean, isn’t that huge?? Most places (I feel like) hook you into a commitment that can get old real quick. But not these guys.

As an MP I get a nice discount on any future orders and have the opportunity to grow an income as I share with other ladies. (I mean, or men. They have a whole men’s line, a line for kids–and get this, for pets, too!)

Now, the real hard part, the part that makes me stress sweat is the recruiting of people who could love this stuff as much as I do. (Have I told you how much of a sucker I am for hair products? yeah… that’s me.) But it’s not a ridiculous number. And while I am discouraged from time to time with the responses I’m receiving, I cannot quit before I give this a real chance.

Once I hit “Join” my friend plugged me into an exclusive group on Instagram (my favorite platform!) and I was immersed in a group of such lovely women who share the same goals as I do. Now, we’re all at different stages of life and financial success so I have to cling to my reality and not compare–but they’re such an amazing, encouraging group of ladies who are ready and willing to help, challenge, and educate me. Like, they really want to see me/us succeed.

And can I tell you? I had no idea how much I needed that little community! Motherhood can be so lonely sometimes–and on top of that, a working mom? It gets real heavy at times. But these women are just here to lift up and support.

Faithful in the little things

I wash my hair once a week (now twice) so I don’t need a new bottle every month. Which is nice. Naturally, I’m going to fulfill the necessary rinse and repeat in order to have clean hair and a healthy scalp, right? And I’ve heard recently that faithfulness can be found in doing the little necessary business things, too–I mean, if I want to go anywhere with this. And that means even doing the things that are so uncomfy.

Yeah, I’m going to feel silly doing the thing from time to time but as I do it anyway and keep on doing it, I know confidence will only grow more and more.

Let me close with this… ever since I’ve been connected to this opportunity I have felt a spirit of “I’ve got nothing to lose” about my life. And I don’t want to lose sight of that. As long as I don’t quit too soon this might turn out into the biggest blessing in my life!

The business was developed to serve people and serving people is one of the best things we could ever do.

Thank you for sharing “day one” with me. I wish you the best!

About THis blog

Grace + Common Sense

This world is crazy and if I pay too much attention to it I will lose heart and mind. So what to do? Lavishly sprinkle grace and common sense unto everything: motherhood, spiritual and mental health, wellness, fitness. Life.

Common sense is a luxury… and grace is often withheld where it could be poured out. Thankfully, we have such THE Perfect Example to follow.

This is what my blog is all about.
