“What is fabric between friends?”

One of the most kindest gestures I’ve ever experienced

Me and Evvy matching!

I’ve already changed into my comfy Sunday afternoon clothes but what I got to wear to church this morning is still very much on my mind. It’s just a dress though, right?

Well, not really in this case.

Just this past Wednesday my daughter was wearing the yellow gingham dress pictured above. And as I was about to drop her off at her evening church class I passed a friend of mine who was wearing a yellow gingham one as well. I told Evvy to “look at her dress!” and there were smiles all around.

Then on Friday when I was getting ready to pick up my youngest from the nursery the same friend flagged me down and told me she had something for me.

She came out of her van with a baby boy gift bag and I thought to myself: “Oh no. I know I look like I’m expecting but I’m really not…”

As if she could read my mind she explained that was just the bag she had on hand. Phew.

She pulled out the dress a little bit and immediately I knew that it was the same one from just the other day. “So you can match your daughter,” she explained.

Guys, I am just blown away. It was no big deal to her but the fact that she would wash it, fold it up neatly into a gift bag, and give it to me so I could match my daughter? That’s just above and beyond kindness straight from the heart.

I recently sent her a couple pictures of me and the Evvs over text and this is what she said:

What is fabric between friends. I’m glad you liked it. You’re welcome.

I don’t know about you, but this world is starving for selfless acts of kindness like this one. I’ll be looking for a way to continue this trend…

Grace + Common Sense

This world is crazy and if I pay too much attention to it I will lose heart and mind. So what to do? Lavishly sprinkle grace and common sense unto everything: motherhood, spiritual and mental health, wellness, fitness. Life.

Common sense is a luxury… and grace is often withheld where it could be poured out. Thankfully, we have such THE Perfect Example to follow.

This is what my blog is all about.
