Regular Status

And the day I achieved it

Before you get the wrong idea, what I mean by regular status is the label one gets when they regularly haunt a restaurant or coffee shop and the people there know your order.

To motivate each other, a coworker and I agreed to allow ourselves something special when we reach every Friday. Her carrot at the end of the week was to buy a coffee at the resident cafe. And mine, since I hate spending money, was to bring in a freshly brewed latte from home.

That was the best idea ever.

But when I bring in my homemade coffee in a jar I don’t have it made with frothed milk or anything. In fact, I doctor it up and add millk so it’s going to need some ice later on that day.

For some reason I am just not in the mood for a coffee first thing when I get to the office but I don’t mind having a nice ice cold one in the afternoon, after lunch.

So I stop by the CFA counter and ask for a cup of ice.

And this is the catalyst of my whole story:

The third time I went (oh wait, I should probably add that I’ve been bringing one in on Wednesdays, too! cuz those days do be long!) I approached the same lovely girl behind the counter and by then she looked up and smiled saying, “Oh! You want a cup of ice!” before I had a chance to say anything.

That, my friend, in my very humble opinion, is regular status.

Grace + Common Sense

This world is crazy and if I pay too much attention to it I will lose heart and mind. So what to do? Lavishly sprinkle grace and common sense unto everything: motherhood, spiritual and mental health, wellness, fitness. Life.

Common sense is a luxury… and grace is often withheld where it could be poured out. Thankfully, we have such THE Perfect Example to follow.

This is what my blog is all about.
