Are we not allowed to make them?

The older I get the more I value trust, respect, and communication. And have little to no patience for drama.

You know what I mean?

Without those foundational elements, it’s disconcerting to sometimes feel like someone unsuspecting could be waiting for me to trip and then at my expense and mortification will spill the piping hot “tea” in clustered whispers.

At least that’s the worst intrusive thought that comes when I’m around those I do not trust, respect, or have good communication with. Some have given reason to anticipate this, which is a shame.

But this post isn’t about me. And the battle is not between flesh and blood–but an all-out spiritual warfare. I have to remind myself from time to time.

My heart is heavy for those people whose lives are public. Because when they make a wrong choice, they’re already out in the open and recipient to unsolicited criticism and judgement. What they’ve done is not worse than the very nature of sin that is at the core of each of our hearts.

I’d say it takes humility to receive (and handle) the news as a wakeup call, a caution to remember that no one is immune to the enemy’s lies and deception. We need the Lord more than ever.

So what does the Bible say?

Galatians 6:1

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.

Proverbs 24:16

For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: But the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Ephesians 6:18

praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

1 Timothy 2:1

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

James 5:16

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

The living Word of God will always have morsels of Truth to breathe into my soul. And I trust will encourage you as well.
